Technology can be very interesting and engaging. Each technology project that I created left me feeling excited and invigorated. Throught this semester I learned a lot of things however these were the most fun. One thing I learned was that it is very easy to create learning games for the students. I always thought that it would be very difficult to create a game on the computer however with templates it is quick and easy to complete interactive lessons for ones classroom. Another thing I learned was how to make a track star. TrackStars are a very effective way of getting the students engaged in the lesson by incorporating technology however, instead of the student browsing the internet themselves teachers have the ability to put it at there fingertips. The most important thing I learned was to create a photostory. At first I was apprehensive about creating a photostory because I am not that great with technology however once I began working with the program is walked you through the process. I was excited once I finished the assignent I wanted to show everyone what I had learned. In conclusion, in all of these activites I was able to overcome my fear of branching out and doing new things to improve my technology skills.
I am very glad that I was able to learn how to do these activites because i can pass them on to my students. I know that I will be using the game templates in my classroom because children love to play games and the games also allow you to evalute you lesson plans. For instance how the students do with the games you create one will be able to determine if they have mastered the concepts or they need to revisit them. I will also use the photostory project and the TrackStar project in my classroom because they allow each child to embrace there learning styles. For example for the kinesthetic learner can type things in the computer and the visual student will be able to see things to improve there knowledge of the lesson. After completing these assignment I believe that it is important to introduce these things to the children early because if we get them invovled in learning early they will be more likely to become successful adults. These assignments proved to be a lot easier than I had orginally thought and I am glad I had the opportunity to participate in them.
